Good Mornning golfing friends!
We all know that after a round of golf, it´s normal to have a drink with your friends in the bar, but do we all know the consequences of doing so from a nutritional point of view?
Let´s have a look at the list of the most popular drinks and their calorific content per 100ml (approx. 1/3 of a can);
- tonic water 35 cal
- coca cola 42 cal
- fanta 39 cal
- beer 47 cal
- wine 65 cal
- sparkling wine 70 cal
- gin and tonic 140 cal
And almost without exception, we have some crisps, nuts or olives with our dink.
If we think that the approximate daily calorie intake is….
2,000-2,500 for men
1,500-2,000 for women
….we can easily understand the huge impact the sugar contained in soft drinks and alcohol has on us.
We should enjoy our time at the 19th hole, but in moderation.
Regards and happy golfing!
