Hello golfers!
Today we focus on the importance of hydrating properly in order to upgrade our game.
Golf is an outdoor sport and players are constantly exposed to atmospheric agents, among which wind and sun are just two of the most damaging.
Not only can we sunburn or have annoying consequences on the skin, but also a lack of hydration that can negatively affect our energy level, attention, and concentration.

We must keep in mind that golf is a pretty mental sport, so we need our brains to work properly for a period of time varying between 3 and 6 hours (9 or 18 holes).
The body is made up of 70% water and needs this amount of fluid to function properly on many levels:
• Cellular
• Muscular
• Cerebral
• Respiratory
Basically, we are made of water, and we must maintain a constant level of hydration throughout the day.

How do we know when we lack hydration? We notice it in the skin, in the energies, in the concentration, in the intestinal regularity, in the recovery and of course in the rest.

Foods «thieves» of water are:
• Coffee
• Alcohol
• Salt
• Sugar
• (Smoke)
So there´s no need to wait to be thirsty, but rather drink sips from time to time. Particularly in golf, you should get re-hydrated at each hole, and preferably warm or seasonal water, since cold water is discouraged for health reasons and body temperature maintenance.

The exposed parts, such as face and hands are the ones that tend to lose more water. In fact, they need extra care in addition to high sun protection, so never miss a bottle of water in your golf bag as it could be the cause of a bad game or training.
As I always say, “Feel better, play better”.
